At HKU University of the Arts, every year students have a chance of winning a HKU Award if they have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree with an excellent graduation production. There are awards in three categories: Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Artistic Achievement.
The school ask the directors of the departments to propose candidates every year. The jury chooses two nominees per category from more than 40 candidates.
In addition to the HKU Awards, the HKU Prize for the Municipality of Utrecht has also been awarded every year since 2016. This is a prize for a talented artist who has just graduated with a project of special social relevance. All HKU schools nominate one candidate and the jury will nominate three social projects.
For the HKU Awards of 2020 I have been nominated in HKU prize of the Municipality of Utrecht for my commitment into social and political activism through music and art.
My graduation project and thesis “Art as an agent of societal change: how music and political activism intersects in avant-garde electronic music” can be found at HKU Exposure.
Read my thesis here.

• Alain Dujardin (Creative director of digital design agency Greenberry)
• Marjolein Oomen (Entrepreneur and Business Strategist)
